Human Tape Sculpture

Grade 8

Students in my 8th-grade class were asked to take turns standing on top of a table to pose for quick gesture drawings. Each student hopped up and posed for 2-5 minutes. Next, I had students work in groups of four. They would then have to choose who the model for their human tape sculpture would be and come up with a pose. Once their human tape sculpture was complete, they were asked as a group to find an area of the school where they would then integrate their human sculpture into the school landscape.

Provoking Questions:

How will your human tape sculpture blend in with its environment?

What accessories will your group add to your human tape sculpture?

What is the story behind your human tape sculpture?
