Rachel holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Massachusetts College of Art & Design (Boston, MA) and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Maine College of Art & Design (Portland, ME). Rachel began her career teaching as an after-school visual arts teacher for Middle School in Rhode Island. She also worked as a co-lead preschool teacher for ages 3-5 yrs old. Her art practice includes: photography, drawing, metal-smithing, ceramics, mixed-media collage, and sculpture. Rachel's approach to teaching is hands-on and through the exploration of new mediums. She approaches the art classroom as a collaborative and expressive effort where all members can learn and feel inspired by one another. Through creative thinking and art-making, her hope is that all of her students can create positive changes in the world.
